Children’s School Council is a group of children who meet each week to discuss changes and improvements that could be made within the school. A link-adult within school facilitates the group. There are two children from each class from Year 1-6 that represent their classes on the school council so that the whole school’s views are heard. The representatives then take back issues, projects and ideas discussed to their classes to raise in their class assemblies. This is also an opportunity for classes to raise new ideas and issues that can be put forward to the school council, creating an opportunity for all children to be heard. Areas discussed last year included fundraising for our courtyard area and recycling projects.
